October 24, 2018 – Special Weather Statement for East Coast

Significant snowfall accumulation possible over parts of northern and western New Brunswick today and Thursday.

Snow will spread northward across the province this morning and continue over northern areas into Thursday. Accumulations of 10 to 15 cm are currently forecast for parts of northwestern New Brunswick by Thursday morning, with amounts possibly exceeding 20 cm over higher terrain by by late in the day Thursday. It is expected that the snow will become mixed with or change to rain in the east and south this afternoon, then change back to snow tonight before tapering to isolated flurries Thursday morning.

Please note that the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island is currently closed to trucks and tractor trailers because of the current high wind situation.
