SPECIAL NOTICE: PANDEMIC UPDATE March 27, 2020

PICK-UP & DELIVERY SERVICE MODIFICATIONS
Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited provides an “ESSENTIAL SERVICE” to many customers in the grocery and health care sectors. Our supply chain network is critical to the well being of many Canadians, especially during difficult times like this.

Our commitment to provide safe working environments for our team and our customers, allows M-O to continually modify our “PANDEMIC ACTION PLAN,” to meet the ever-changing landscape of this world wide health crisis. Many of the enhancements are a result of feedback from our teams, in consort with legislated
directives, addressing the need to increase social distancing awareness and its application at the front lines of our respective operations.

We all recognize, it is no longer advisable to physically interact with each other as we practice Social Distancing. Therefore, is it no longer advisable to physically transfer papers between each other when conducting business.

“Maritime Ontario instituted a directive for all drivers to avoid the physical transfer of paperwork when delivering or picking up from our customers.”

DELIVERIES

  • Drivers will record Date/Time on the delivery paperwork
  • Drivers will no longer request a signature
  • Drivers will verbally request and note the First & Last Name of the person receiving the shipment and then PRINT the name of the delivery paperwork
  • Maritime-Ontario will be operating strictly on a Shippers Load & Count basis, until further notice
  • In the event damages are recognized at the time of a delivery, request the driver make a notation on the delivery receipt, on your behalf. Failure to do so will risk your damage claim be declined.

PICK-UPS

  • Paperwork should be placed on the last pallet loaded onto a trailer
  • Drivers will record Date/Time on the paperwork prior to closing doors of pick-up unit
  • ALL SHIPMENTS ARE CONSIDERED SHIPPERS LOAD & COUNT
  • Maritime-Ontario will be operating strictly on a Shippers Load & Count basis, until further notice
    • In the event damages are recognized at the time of a pickup, advise the driver & he or she will make a notation on the pick-up documentation, on your behalf. If damage is noticed back at the terminal during the unloading process, a notification will be sent to the Bill-To advising of the issue/concern.
