SPECIAL NOTICE – Rail Blockades (Eastern Ontario & British Columbia) – February 10, 2020

SPECIAL NOTICE-RAIL BLOCKADES (EASTERN ONTARIO & BRITISH COLUMBIA).

The main rail line remains blocked in Tyendinaga, Ontario (Belleville) this morning and has been blocked since Thursday February 6th, 2020. There is also a blockade in New Hazelton, British Columbia blocked since Saturday February 8th, 2020.

A public statement from the individuals responsible for these blockades have suggested that their actions are in solidarity with the pipeline opposition movement.

Rail traffic has been severely impacted as a result in both the eastern and western corridors, with officials from both national railways evaluating their options.

While this dispute remains out of our control, Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines is in constant communication with our rail partner looking for options and updates. This morning all eastbound traffic from Toronto has been diverted to the road in an effort to maintain service. Traffic bound British Columbia remains on hold, while other western provinces remain fluid.

We thank you for your patience and will have further updates as they become available.

Sincerely,

MARITIME-ONTARIO FREIGHT LINES LIMITED.
