We have just been informed that rail blockade in Manitoba has come to an end and likely ending imminently in British Columbia. The situation just outside of Belleville, Ontario has not yet been resolved as the orders of the court have not been enforced. As a result, CN Rail will progressively shut down eastern operations.
While this past week has been a very challenging for both carriers and customers alike, Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited, has been doing everything possible to maintain service network wide. Operations to Quebec and Atlantic Canada have been sustained by diverting all traffic from Ontario to the highway. Traffic bound for western Canada has been moving by rail with anticipated delays.
Looking forward to next week we will work diligently on our recovery plan, in cooperation with our rail partner. We fully anticipate the clean up process to be challenging however, we will ensure that our entire team is engaged, and will work to improve fluidity and schedules as quickly as possible.
On behalf of the entire Maritime-Ontario team we would like to thank you for your patience & understanding during this very difficult time.
