WEATHER ADVISORY FOR ONTARIO – February 6, 2019

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for this today in Ontario.

Snow or ice pellets have begun over Ontario , and are expected to last throughout the day. There is also the risk of freezing drizzle today. Snow and ice pellet accumulations of 2 to 4 cm are expected before the precipitation changes to freezing drizzle late this evening or overnight.

Freezing drizzle is expected to continue overnight and most of Thursday. Freezing drizzle advisories may be required.

The evening commute will likely be affected due to accumulating snow and ice pellets and the potential for untreated surfaces to become icy.
Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.

Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines in keeping with its “SAFETY FIRST” policy is operating where possible, but delays should be anticipated for at least the next 24 to 48 hours. Thank you for your patience.
