Maritime-Ontario Freight Lines Limited (“M-O”) is pleased to announce our ongoing support to MADD Canada (“Mothers Against Drunk Driving / MADD”) with an additional 3-year commitment totaling $75,000.00.
MADD Canada was formed in 1989 to create a national network of victims/survivors and concerned citizens working to stop impaired driving and to support victims/survivors of this violent crime. MADD works to achieve its mission on a number of fronts:
• Victim/Survivor Services
• Youth Services
• Public awareness and Education
• Public policy
This donation will be provided through the Graham Munro Charitable Foundation (“GMCF”), a private registered Canadian foundation established in 1986 by the shareholders of M-O. These type of donations help support MADD’s Campaign 911 efforts which encourage the public to call 911 when they see a suspected impaired driver on the roads and waterways. This keeps all of us safer because statistics show that charge rates for impaired driving go up by 30% when people call 911. More info on Campaign 911 can be found at www.madd.ca.
