Service Update: Update for Delays Due to Hurricane Fiona - September 22, 2022

Please note that Hurricane Fiona is expected to approach parts of Atlantic Canada late Friday, September 23 into Saturday, September 24.

 

In preparation for the storm, CN will:

  • Halt all local switching and mainline carload trains in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia from Friday, September 23 at 18:00 to Saturday, September 24 at 18:00, and   
  • Close the gates and halt operations at the Port of Halifax, Halifax intermodal Terminal and Moncton Intermodal Terminal between Friday, September 23 at 18:00 to Saturday, September 24 at 18:00.

 

Train departures are expected to be delayed 48-72 hours, and currently the Friday night train departure has been cancelled.

These plans are subject to change based on weather and track conditions, and we will continue to monitor and communicate additional information as it is made available.

  2. Remembrance Day Notice: M-O Terminal Schedule changes:       

    In honour of Remembrance Day, Maritime-Ontario Freightworks terminals in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, and Atlantic Canada will be closed on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025.

    Terminals in Ontario, Manitoba, and Quebec will remain open and operating as normal.

    Regular operations will resume at all locations on Wednesday, November 12th, 2025.

    On this day, we pause to remember and honour the courage and sacrifice of those who have served our country and protected the freedoms we enjoy today.
